Polyphasic Sleep Days 20-21 – Gotta Get Back on Track

Intro to Polyphasic Sleep | First attempt (lasted 30 days) | Second Attempt (lasted 7 days) | Third Attempt (ongoing)

The last 2 days I’ve fallen off the wagon to some extent; I’ve overslept once each day, the worst being today when I overslept by 4 hours and woke up feeling half dead. Not fun.

I’m attributing it to pure laziness. I haven’t been setting alarms as systematically as I was before. I’ve been eating too many carbs and I’ve had a cup of coffee every second day and I’ve been having a drink or two every second day. And I’ve been going too long between naps or skipping them entirely, relying on sugar/caffeine to push through. Not hugely terrible things on their own, but add them all together, as well as the fact I had a bit of a setback with the ski trip, and you get broken polyphasic sleep. I also haven’t been attacking my massive to-do list with the same fervor I was before due to decreased energy and decreased motivation, instead spending too much time on Youtube.

Tomorrow I’m hitting the markets and buying a crapload of fruit/veg/meat to get my diet back to where it was. No more coffee, no more alcohol, no more carbs. I’ll be more vigilant with my alarms and will stop sleeping in my bed, as it’s too comfortable and I keep oversleeping. Plus, in a weird way, I miss sleeping on the floor. I’ll stop delaying naps and aim to take one roughly every 4 hours (or as soon as I feel tiredness coming on). I’m also going to get back on track with the todo list or I’ll never get it done. As it stands, I estimate it would take me about 3 months of going hard to get through it. The problem is I keep adding 5 things a day to it. And that’s not including my massive list of ideas for photos. That stands at somewhere over 150 and grows by about 3 a day. I’ve also got about 300 photos on the computer that are waiting to be edited and uploaded. Even with polyphasic sleep I feel like I’ll spend my entire life behind, never getting everything done!

In the interest of saving time and keeping the blogs interesting, I may drop the amount of posts to every second or third day; basically whenever I have something interesting to say. There’s no point writing, “Another day passed, nothing exciting happened”, nobody wants to read that. On the subject of boring blog posts, I cleaned my entire house today as a way of forcing myself to pick up the motivation again. House looks sexy, boys and girls. House looks sexy.
